2011 Hometown Huddle with the Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals NFL Hometown Huddle 2011Hometown Huddle 2011 took place on October 11th and this year the Cincinnati Bengals and the Marvin Lewis Community Fund worked in Cincinnati's North College Hill community at Veterans Park located on Betts Avenue.

Working with Cincinnati Bengals Players and volunteers, we constructed a new playground along with a couple parcourse fit circuit pieces and installed shaded canopies for a shaded area to relax.

In addition, the players and volunteers, repaired the existing wall in the family area, replaced the existing park sign, created a community garden and built a storage shed to house the garden tools. Additionally, we beautified the space with extensive landscaping including native trees, shrubs, mulch and flowers. They also added a family picnic area with new picnic grills, tables and garbage cans.

Hometown Huddle is an NFL/United Way initiative that happens in all NFL markets on the same day, geared toward promoting volunteerism and creating a lasting impression in the community.
