GameTime, the world's leading play equipment manufacturer in play design, educational curricula programs, service, and product choice was named as a preferred provider for the Head Start Body Start National Center for Physical Development and Outdoor Play. Head Start Centers will receive $5,000 individual grants for the improvement of over 380 playgrounds this year. These grants are one way Head Start Body Start is working to increase physical activity and outdoor play among Head Start and Early Head Start Centers for children. The Center will assist Head Start programs in creating healthy learning environments, both in and outside the classroom, through structured and unstructured physical activity that leads to the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development of young children and reduces obesity and its associated costs.
